TransAsia selects Rolls-Royce Trent 700 to power its A330s

Rolls-Royce has won its first order from Taiwan's TransAsia Airways.

The carrier has selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engine to power its two recently-ordered Airbus A330-300s.

TranAsia has also signed up for R-R's TotalCare long-term maintenance contract as part of the deal, which the manufacturer values at $150 million.

TransAsia will take delivery of the aircraft between 2012 and 2013.
