Canadian travel group Transat has completed the sale of its Handlex business unit, which provides ground handling services at Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver international airports.

Transat sold Handlex to Servisair Holding Canada, which provides ground services at 118 locations worldwide, in a transaction first announced on 22 May.

Under the deal, Air Transat will continue using Handlex for ground handling services at the three airports.

"This transaction is the result of Transat's decision to focus on its core business as a tour operator and it allows Handlex staff to join the ranks of an organisation with international presence and whose own core business is airport services," says Transat.
