TUI Travel grew operating profit 3% to £76 million ($118 million) in the third quarter, as revenue rose 5% to £3.86 billion.
The UK-based tour operator also cut an eighth from its operating loss for the nine-month period ending 30 June. This totalled £213 million.
Nine-month revenue improved 1% to £9.26 billion.
At 28 July, summer bookings in the UK, the Nordic region and Germany were up 14%, 11% and 9% - respectively - from the same point in 2012.
"Separately disclosed items" for the nine-month period include £16 million made from sales and leasebacks of aircraft "and other aircraft-related transactions".
