UK tour operators Thomson and First Choice are planning to increase their flights from London Southend airport next year.
The two holiday companies, both of which are part of TUI group, want to double their current once-weekly flights to Majorca and start a once-weekly service to Ibiza for the 2014 summer schedule.
The flights are not operated by TUI's UK carrier Thomson Airways, however.
TUI's Belgian branch Jetairfly is conducting the flights on behalf of Thomson and First Choice.
Jetairfly will deploy Boeing 737s or Embraer 190s on the routes from Southend, says TUI.
