TUI Travel has completed the sale and leaseback of two new Boeing 787 aircraft to operating lessor GECAS.

The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in May and June 2014, says TUI.

The 787s are part of a request for proposals (RFP) covering nine Boeing aircraft sent earlier this year.

The group approached financiers with the RFP in the second quarter seeking commercial debt, purchase and leaseback proposals as well as finance lease structures. The mandate covers a total of four 787-8s and five 737-800s deliveries.

The other 787-8s are scheduled to deliver in November this year. The five 737-800 deliveries are planned through spring 2014.
