Turkish Airlines has more than doubled its first half net profit to TL 164 million ($90 million), as compared with TL 67.8 million during the same period last year.
Revenue increased by 36% to reach TL 6.7 billion.
For the six months to 30 June 2012, the Turkish flag carrier saw a 20% year-on-year rise in passenger numbers to 18 million.
ASK capacity and RPK traffic increased by 19% and 24% respectively, resulting in a 5.7 percentage point increase in passenger load factor to 75.2%.
International transfer passengers accounted for 39% of footfall - 4 percentage points higher than in the first half of 2011 - after eight new international destinations were added to the route network.
Turkish also took delivery of 19 aircraft during the first half, bringing its fleet size to 194 aircraft.
