Turkish Airlines net profit jumps sixfold to TL 868m

Turkish Airlines' net profit increased more than sixfold to TL 868 million ($482 million) in the nine months to 30 September.

The carrier reported sales revenue of TL 11.2 billion, up 30% against the same period last year. Operating profit reached TL 1.08 billion.

The nine-month period also saw a 20% year-on-year rise in passenger numbers to 29.1 million.

ASK capacity and RPK traffic increased by 19% and 27% respectively, resulting in a 5.3 percentage point increase in passenger load factor to 77.9%.

International transfer passengers rose by 46%, amounting to a 41.8% share of total passengers carried.
