Turkish Airlines net profit up to $623m in 2012

Turkish Airlines lifted operating profits nearly 200% in 2012 to reach TL1.05 billion ($579 million) on revenues up more than a quarter.

The carrier's revenue went up 26% year-over-year to TL14.9 billion, after carrying 39 million passengers - up a fifth on the same stage last year.

The Star Alliance carrier made a net profit of Turkish lira (TL) 1.13 billion in 2012, up from TL19 million in 2011.
