Turkish Airlines is looking to acquire three light business jets for its Turkish Flight Academy pilot-training division.

The carrier says the business jets will be used for multi-engine training for cadet pilots and the Cessna Mustang and Embraer Phenom 100 are in the contest.

Flight Academy's fleet includes 10 Cessna 172s singles and one Diamond DA42 twin, but the company lost two Cessnas during a storm in July and has been planning to acquire more aircraft.

By extending the fleet, Turkish Airlines plans to increase the capacity and capability of the academy. The carrier also intends to use the jets to support its mainline fleet by delivering parts or technicians when required.
