A de Havilland Canada Twin Otter operated by Nepalese carrier Tara Air has reportedly crashed in eastern Nepal.

The aircraft, with 19 passengers and three crew on board, crashed yesterday while flying to Kathmandu from Lamidanda in eastern Nepal, say reports.

Officials of the airline could not be reached for comment on the incident. Reports say there are unlikely to be survivors.

Tara, based in Kathmandu, operates a fleet of Twin Otters and Dornier 228 aircraft to mountainous regions within Nepal.
