Abu Dhabi's Elite Aviation is to open Airbus A320 services to two German cities after leasing a pair of twin-jets from Blue Wings.
Elite Aviation is to use the 112-seat aircraft on connections to Berlin and Dusseldorf from tomorrow, according to Abu Dhabi's airport operator.
Berlin flights will be conducted twice-weekly while Dusseldorf, the base of Blue Wings, will be served three times per week.
"These routes are the first step for the Elite Aviation operation," says Elite president Khalid Al-Hashemi.
"Our aim is to connect Abu Dhabi with a large range of destinations in Europe to generate additional business opportunities for United Arab Emirates and European companies."
Blue Wings says it has an initial charter agreement with Elite covering the A320s but adds that there is an "understanding" of a longer-term co-operation between the companies.
Introduction of the Elite services follows the resumption of Blue Wings operations, after the carrier was temporarily grounded by German authorities in March.
