UK's Eastern Airways takes on Lorient-Lyon route

UK regional carrier Eastern Airways has launched a French domestic service between Lorient Bretagne Sud and Lyon-Saint-Exupery airports after being selected to operate the PSO route by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of of Morbihan.

Eastern Airways is operating two daily weekday flights, plus a Sunday service on the Lorient-Lyon route, using British Aerospace Jetstream 41 aircraft. The route was formerly operated by Air France regional unit Hop.

Lorient is located in the heart of southern Brittany in the north west of France and is the leading agriculture and fishing region for France. The region and Lorient has strong industrial links with Lyon in the electronics, telecoms, automobile and food processing sectors. The CCI of Morbihan is based in Lorient.

Eastern already operates French domestic routes from Dijon to Bordeaux and Toulouse. “This latest domestic route launch further demonstrates our commitment to serving the regions of France as we enhance our French network,” says Eastern Airways’ commercial director Kay Ryan.
