Ukraine International Airlines is in talks with the country's government aimed at stabilising the air transport network in the face of AeroSvit's deterioration.
The carrier, a partner of AeroSvit, has stepped in to operate services to several destinations.
These include services from Kiev to Prague, Baku, Tbilisi and Astana.
Ukraine International, which has a fleet of 19 Boeing 737s, says it needs to "preserve the stability" of the country's aviation industry and "normalise" the situation while AeroSvit bids to restructure.
It says it is in discussions with the government to develop measures to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
