United Airlines will base the Embraer 175s operated by Mesa Airlines at its Houston Intercontinental airport hub.
Flights on the 76-seat regional jets will begin to Atlanta, Austin and New Orleans on 15 June, following a first delivery to the Phoenix-based regional carrier during the week of 31 March.
Mesa will operate the 30 E175s for Chicago-based United under a long-term capacity agreement. The mainline carrier owns the aircraft.
The E175s operated by SkyWest Airlines will be based at Chicago O’Hare International airport, according to a recent newsletter from United to its employees.
SkyWest will begin flights with the type on the Chicago-Washington National route on 17 May, with flights to Atlanta, Boston Logan, Minneapolis/St. Paul and New York LaGuardia coming online during the next month.
The Utah-based regional carrier has an agreement with United to operate 40 E175s.
