United-Continental logs single-digit growth in April unit revenues

United-Continental estimates its consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) grew 4.5% to 5.5% in April.

The carrier's consolidated traffic grew 0.9% on a 2% decrease in capacity in April, while its load factor notched up 2.4 percentage points to 82.7%.

Domestic traffic for the carrier increased slightly by 0.1% in the month on a 1.1% capacity decrease and traffic on its international routes grew 1.8% on a 2.5% drop in supply.

Through April, United-Continental's year-to-date consolidated traffic rose 0.5% on a 0.3% decrease in capacity. Load factors have increased by 0.7 percentage points to 79.3%.
