United Continental PRASM up 3-4% in January

United Continental Holdings reports that consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased by 3% to 4% during January compared with a year earlier.

Consolidated traffic increased 0.9% and capacity decreased 1.9%, resulting in a 2.2 percentage point increase in load factor to 79.9%. Passenger numbers grew 1.9% to 10.5 million in January.

Domestic traffic increased 0.6% as capacity decreased 1%, resulting in a 1.3 percentage point increase in load factor to 82.3%.

International traffic increased 0.6% while capacity fell 2.4%, resulting in a 2.3 percentage point increase in load factor to 78.4%.

Cargo revenue tonne miles fell 11.8% in January.
