United Airlines is shifting select routes to Mexico from Houston Intercontinental and Newark Liberty International airports to seasonal status.

Flights from Houston to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Leon/Guanajuato and Monterrey, and from Newark to Cozumel will only operate on a seasonal basis instead of year round going forward, the Chicago-based Star Alliance carrier notified the US Department of Transportation (DOT) on 12 March.

United is the only airline on the Houston-Ixtapa, Houston-Leon and Newark-Cozumel routes, Innovata schedules show. VivaAerobus also flies between Houston and Monterrey.
