United Airlines expects normal operations today after voluntarily grounding its 96 Boeing 757-200s on 15 February to ensure airworthiness directive (AD) compliance.

A carrier spokesman says roughly 15 flights were cancelled on 15 February, and United foresees no cancellations today.

The AD, first published in 2004, requires a modification of the air data computer system, which involves installing certain new circuit breakers, relays and related components and making various wiring changes between the flight deck and main equipment centre.

United's spokesman states the inspections take roughly one hour per aircraft and "most of the work has been completed".
