United Airlines is seeking authority to launch service between Guam and Shanghai Pudong in October.
The Chicago-based Star Alliance carrier plans to begin twice-weekly service on a Boeing 737-700 from on or around 28 October, according to its application with the US Department of Transportation (DOT).
The route would be United’s first regularly scheduled service between Guam and mainland China. It has flown between Guam and Hong Kong since its merger with Continental Airlines in 2010.
No other carriers fly between Guam and Shanghai, Innovata schedules show.
