United Airlines plans to launch seasonal service between Washington Dulles International and Los Cabos International airport in December.
The Chicago-based Star Alliance carrier has applied with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for authority to begin weekend-only seasonal flights on the route on either a Boeing 737-800 or a Boeing 737-900ER from 20 December, according to a recent regulatory filing.
United’s 737-800s have up to 160 seats and its 737-900ERs up to 179 seats.
The airline already serves Los Cabos from Chicago O’Hare, Denver, Houston Intercontinental, Los Angeles, Newark and San Francisco, Innovata FlightMaps analytics shows.
No carriers fly between Washington and Los Cabos, according to Innovata.
