United Airlines plans to inaugurate its previously announced new service from Washington Dulles to Ghana's capital Accra on 20 June.

United in November of 2009 said it planned to launch flights to Accra and Lagos, Nigeria in May, and aimed to offer once-daily same plane service to each city from Dulles with a Boeing 767.

"We look forward to offering service to Lagos - subject to approval by Nigerian officials - which will enable our customers to travel between Lagos and Washington more quickly and conveniently," says United's SVP of Alliances, International and Regulatory Affairs Mark Schwab.
