The Air Transport Association of America (ATA) has officially changed its names to Airlines for America (A4A).
Revealing in the new name in a statement A4A said it represents the association's mission that entails moving 2 million passengers and 50,000 tonnes of cargo daily.
The association has also coined a new tagline "We Connect The World," to illustrate the more than 10 million US jobs created by commercial aviation and its contribution of more than $1 trillion a year in economic activity and 5% of US GDP.
Airlines for America worked with independent design company Pentagram to develop the new name and branding.
"A4A is acutely aware of the progress and competitive advantages taking place in international markets to build and leverage commercial aviation to support growth," said group CEO Nick Calio. "Our focus is to work cooperatively with the administration and Congress to create a tax and regulatory environment that enables US airlines to provide the service needed to compete globally."
