US Airways passenger unit revenues up 5% in July

US Airways' passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased approximately 5% in July compared to a year earlier.

Consolidated passenger traffic and capacity rose by 6.3% and 4.7%, respectively. The load factor was up 1.4 percentage points to 87.6%.

Mainline domestic traffic grew 6.4%, Atlantic traffic increased 6.6% and Latin traffic rose 10.9%, resulting in an overall 6.8% increase in mainline traffic during the month.

Domestic mainline capacity grew 5%, Atlantic capacity rose by 3.1% and Latin capacity increased 11.4%, resulting in an overall 5.1% growth in mainline capacity during the month.

The mainline load factor was up by 1.4 percentage points to 88.1% for the month.
