US Airways does not foresee any meaningful changes resulting from its slot swap transaction with Delta Air Lines before next year.

The US Department of Transportation recently approved a deal for Delta to transfer 42 slot pairs at Washington National airport to US Airways and US Airways to give Delta 132 slot pairs at New York LaGuardia airport. Delta is also paying US Airways $66.5 million.

The US Department of Justice is still reviewing the transaction, with a particular emphasis on how US Airways' growth at National would impact competition at the airport.

In its regular employee update US Airways stated, "no movement as a result of this transaction is expected to take place before next year, with many aspects taking several months to implement. It's too early to discuss any terminal changes at this time".
