US Airways will launch a daily flights between Charlotte and Sao Paulo Guarulhos service from 5 May 2013.
The Tempe, Arizona-based airline will operate a 204-seat Boeing 767-200 aircraft.
US Airways received seven US-Brazil frequencies from the US Department of Transportation in 2010 to serve Sao Paulo, however, it was unable to gain terminal and gate space at Guarulhos until after the then planned privatisation of the airport. The Brazilian government closed a 20-year concession with an Invepar, Airports Company of South Africa and OAS consortium for the facility earlier this year.
The airline also flies to Rio de Janeiro from Charlotte.
Innovata schedules show that the carrier will be the sole operator on the route.
