The US Department of Justice has dropped a cargo cartel investigation against Air New Zealand (ANZ).
The DOJ had confirmed by letter that it has ended its investigation and that the Star Alliance carrier is "no longer a subject or target of the ongoing grand jury investigation," said ANZ.
Airlines around the world have been charged in several investigations in different countries for alleged price-fixing in their cargo operations.
"The end of the Department of Justice investigation follows successful outcomes for the airline last November when it was not among airlines fined by the European Commission and before that, confirmation from regulators in South Korea that Air New Zealand was not among airlines fined at the conclusion of their investigation," said ANZ.
The airline's general counsel John Blair said: "Air New Zealand welcomes this further step as it continues to demonstrate its innocence in respect of the cartel allegations."
