Global Knafaim pays $56m for two narrowbodies

Global Knafaim Leasing has raised $36.2 million in commercial loans from a US bank for the financing of two narrowbody aircraft recently acquired from an operating lessor.

The Israeli leasing arm of Knafaim Holdings acquired one Airbus A321 manufactured in 2006, on lease to BMI until 2018, and a 1999-vintage Boeing 737-800 leased to South African’s Comair until 2021, it says in an announcement on the Tel Aviv stock exchange.

On the same day, SMBC Aviation Capital announced the sale of an A321 and a 737-800 from its own portfolio.

The total cost of the acquisition is $56.5 million, says Knafaim Holdings and the remaining $16.3 million is funded with the company’s own cash and aircraft deposits.

AirAsia X leased an Airbus A330-300 (0786) aircraft with Trent 772-60 engines from ILFC. The 2006-vintage aircraft was previously operated Dragonair.

Air Contractors agreed to lease three Boeing 757-200 (27623, 28167, 28170) aircraft with PW2040 engines from ILFC. The 1997/98-vintage aircraft are currently operated by Finnair.

Aergo Trading purchased a Boeing 737-300 (28870) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Macquarie AirFinance. The 1997-vintage aircraft was previously operated by bmibaby.

Aer Lingus agreed to wetlease three Boeing 757-200 (27623, 28167, 28170) aircraft with PW2040 engines from Air Contractors from January 2014 onwards. The 1997/98-vintage aircraft are currently operated by Finnair.

Aerolineas Argentinas agreed to lease a Boeing 737-800 (37744) aircraft with CFM56-7B26 engines from GECAS. The 2011-vintage aircraft is currently operated by Air Berlin.

Archway Aviation purchased an Airbus A330-200 (1019) aircraft with PW4170 engines from HSH Nordbank in a transaction arranged by Amentum. The 2009-vintage aircraft is on lease to Vietnam Airlines through 2017.

Atlasjet Airlines leased a Boeing 777-200ER (28513) aircraft Trent 884 engines from EuroAtlantic Airways. The 1998-vintage aircraft was previously operated by LOT Polish Airlines.

Avia AM purchased a Boeing 737-500 (28997) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from SMBC Aviation Capital. The 1998-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Estonian Air.

Discovery Air agreed to lease a Boeing 737-300 (28870) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Aergo Trading. The 1997-vintage aircraft was previously operated by bmibaby.

Everlop Airlines wetleased an Airbus A330-200 (0833) aircraft with Trent 772B-60 engines from Orbest. The 2007-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Calima Aviation.

Flair Aviation purchased a BAE Systems RJ85 (E2277) aircraft with LF507-1F engines from Lufthansa Cityline. The 1996-vintage aircraft was operated by Lufthansa Cityline since new.

Jet Midwest purchased a Boeing 757-200 (25298) aircraft with RB211-535E4B engines from American Airlines. The 1992-vintage aircraft were operated by American Airlines since new.

Sunrise Asset Management purchased two Airbus A320 (1262, 1288) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines from SMBC Aviation Capital. The 2000-vintage aircraft were previously operated by Iberia.

Sunwing Airlines subleased a Boeing 737-800 (29669) aircraft CFM56-7B26 engines from Travel Service. The 2005-vintage aircraft is on lease from Air Lease.

Tatarstan Air leased two Airbus A319 (2700) aircraft with CFM56-5B5/P engines from Celestial Aviation Trading 30 (GECAS). The 2006-vintage aircraft were previously operated by Bahrain Air.

Volotea Airlines leased a Boeing 717-200 (55182) aircraft with BR715A1-30 engines from Boeing Capital Corp. The 2003-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Mexicana Click.
