Avolon acquires 737-800s from GECAS

Operating lessor Avolon has acquired a pair of Boeing 737-800 aircraft from GECAS with leases attached to Copa Airlines.

Both aircraft, MSN 39398 and 39399, were built in 2012, according to Flighglobal’s Ascend Online database.

The deal represents Avolon’s first Boeing 737 aircraft on lease to the carrier.

The transaction follows a similar deal in March in which the Dublin-based lessor purchased a 737-800 on lease to Garuda Indonesia.

Air Serbia transferred one Boeing 737-300 (23329) aircraft with CFM56-3B1 engines to Aviolet. The 1985-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air Serbia since 2007.

Bahamasair subleased a Boeing 737-400 (26279) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Xtra Airways. The 1992-vintage aircraft was previously operated by One Airlines.

Belavia agreed to lease a Boeing 737-300 (28332) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from AviaAM Leasing. The 1996-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Carpatair.

Blue Panorama agreed to lease a Boeing 767-300ER (27392) aircraft with CF6- 80C2B7F engines from Jetran International. The 1995-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Thomson Airways.

Brussels Airlines agreed to lease an Airbus A319 (2763) aircraft with CFM56-5B5/P engines from GECAS. The 2006-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Bahrain Air.

Colombe Airline agreed to lease a Boeing MD-83 (49662) aircraft with JT8D-219 engines from Wallace Holdings. The 1987-vintage aircraft was last operated by Norwegian.

Jet2 leased a Boeing 737-800 (27987) aircraft with CFM56-7B26 engines from AerCap. The 2000-vintage aircraft was previously operated by TUIfly.

Jet Airlines wetleased an Airbus A319 (3139) aircraft with CFM56-5B6/P engines from BH Air. The 2007-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Myanmar Airways.

Sky Airline agreed to lease an Airbus A319 (3171) aircraft with CFM56-5B6/P engines from AerCap. The 2007-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Tatarstan Air.

Taban Air wetleased an Airbus A310-300 (497) aircraft with CF6-80C2A2 engines from Ariana Afghan Airlines. The 1989-vintage aircraft was acquired from Turkish Airlines in 2009.

TAP Portugal leased an Airbus A320 (2792) aircraft with CFM56- 5B4/P engines from Sahaab Aircraft Leasing. The 2006-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Jazeera Airways.

Trigana Air Service leased a Boeing 737-300SF (23930) aircraft with CFM56-3B2 engines from GECAS. The 1988-vintaghe aircraft was previously operated by Swiftair.

VIM Airlines agreed to lease an Airbus A319 (3403) with CFM56-5B5/3 engines from AWAS. The 2008-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Airblue.

Vueling agreed to lease an Airbus A320 (3476) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/3 engines from Standard Chartered Aviation Finance. The 2008-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air Arabia.

Yanair agreed to lease an Airbus A320 (0671) aircraft with CFM56-5A1 engines from Eastok Aviation. The 1997-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Safi Airways.
