Airstream arranges 737-500 sales to VX Capital
Remarketing company Airstream International has sold five Boeing 737-500s owned by Royal Air Maroc's to VX Capital Partners.
The aircraft (MSNs 25317, 26525, 26527, 27679 and 27680) were the last five remaining 737-500's in the Royal Air Maroc's fleet. The sales form part of Royal Air Maroc's fleet harmonisation programme to phase out the 737 classic, replacing with modern Next Generation aircraft.
According to Flightglobal's Ascend online database, VX Capital Partners acquired the 737-500s via an investment vehicle called V48R-737X5. The aircraft, which are powered by CFM International CFM56-3C1 engines, were manufactured in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1997, respectively.
Aeropostal purchased a Boeing MD-82 (53206) aircraft with JT8D-217C engines from Engage Aviation. The 1992-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Alitalia.
Air Berlin leased an Airbus A330-200 (0822) aircraft with PW4168A engines from ILFC. The 2007-vintage aircraft was previously operated by MeridianaFly.
Air Europa subleased an Airbus A330-200 (461) aircraft with Trent 772B-60 engines from Orbest. The 2002-vintage aircraft is on lease from CIT Leasing.
Air Uganda leased a Bombardier CRJ200LR (7363) aircraft with CF34-3B1 engines from EDC Lease Finance Trust No.3. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air Burkina.
Air Via leased an Airbus A320 (2457) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from AWAS. The 2005-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Jetstar Asia.
Aeroturbine purchased a Boeing 757-200 (24622) aircraft with PW2037 engines from U.S. Bank Trust National Association, not in its individual capacity but solely as owner trustee. The 1989-vintage aircraft was previously leased to United Air Lines. The transaction was arranged by SkyWorks Leasing.
Allegiant Air purchased an Airbus A319 (2224) aircraft with CFM56-5B5/P engines from Oak Hill Aircraft I-18 in a transaction by Santos Dumont. The 2004-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Easyjet.
FastJet South Africa agreed to wetlease a Boeing 737-300 (27345) aircraft with CFM56-3B1 engines from Star Air Cargo. The 1994-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Mango.
Germania subleased a Boeing 737-700 (36115) aircraft with CFM56-7B22 engines from Air Berlin. The 2008-vintage aircraft is owned by Pembroke Group.
Ifly leased an Airbus A330-300 (0120) aircraft with PW4168 engines from AerCap. The 1996-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air Berlin.
Jet 2 agreed to sublease an Airbus A320 (2791) aircraft with v2527E-A5 engines from Titan Airways for the summer period. The 2006-vintage aircraft is owned by CIT leasing.
Kharkiv Airlines agreed to lease a Boeing 767-300ER (26263) aircraft with CF6-80C2B6F engines from ILFC. The 1995-vintage aircraft was previously operated by LOT Polish Airlines.
Midair purchased a Boeing 737-500 (25165) aircraft with CFM56-3B1 engines from AWAS. The 1993-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Tartastan Air.
Moldavian Airlines leased a Fokker F100 (11395) aircraft with Tay 650-15 engines from Carpatair. The 1992-vintage aircraft was already leased from Carpatair in 2005.
Myanmar Airlines wetleased an Airbus A319 (3139) aircraft with CFM56-5B6/P engines from BH Airlines. The 2007-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Eritrean Airways.
Nordwind Airlines agreed to lease a Boeing 767-300ER (28042) aircraft with CF6- 80C2B7F engines from Fly Leasing. The 1997-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Thomson Airways.
Peruvian Airlines leased a Boeing 737-300 (24329) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from ACAP 2003-2 ABS portfolio (Aviation Capital Group). The 1990-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Norwegian.
TAC Airlines subleased a Boeing MD-83 (53189) aircraft with JT8D-219 engines from United Airways. The 1995-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Jet Midwest.
Travel Service Airlines leased a Boeing 737-800 (30724) aircraft with CFM56-7B26/3 engines from ILFC. The 2007-vintage aircraft was previously operated by CanJet Airlines.
