PIA agrees five narrowbody leases

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has agreed to lease five used narrowbody aircraft for six-year’s period.

The Karachi-based carrier will take three 2004-vintage A320s (2155, 2212, 2274) that are currently operated by China Eastern Airlines

Two 2008/09-vintage A320s (3833 3626) aircraft that are operated by Air Arabia will also be leased from SMBC Aviation Capital.

PIA initially shortlisted 10 A319/A320s as it aims to an ageing Boeing 737-300 fleet and some Airbus A310-300s.

The committee rejected the remaining five aircraft because of their low combined score on financial and technical parameters.

Aegean Airlines renewed the lease of an Airbus A320 (3316) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines with Global Aircraft Fund 1 in a transaction arranged by aircraft asset management company Amentum. The 1997-vintage aircraft has been operated by Aegean Airlines since 2009.

Afghan Jet International Airlines leased a Boeing 737-300 (24674) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Global Aviation Services. The 1990-vintage was previously operated by United Airlines.

Airblue subleased an Airbus A320 (3028) aircraft with CFM56-5B5/P engines from Bulgaria Air. The 2007-vintage aircraft has been operated by Bulgaria Air since 2009.

Andes Líneas Aéreas leased a Boeing MD-80 (49784) aircraft with JT8D-219 engines from Air Capital Group. The 1989-build aircraft was previously operated by Austral.

Europe Airpost leased a Boeing 737-300SF (25181) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from ASL Aviation Group. The 1992-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Turkish Airlines.

Flynas leased an Airbus A320 (1965) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines from AerCap. The 2003-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Thomas Cook Airlines.

Hi Fly leased an Airbus A321 (1004) aircraft with V2533-A5 engines from ILFC for a period of four year. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Onur Air.

Jet2 agreed to lease a Boeing 737-800 (27982) aircraft with CFM56-7B26 engines from AerCap Partners I. The 2000-vintage aircraft is currently operated by TUIfly.

SAS leased an Airbus A320 (3335) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from MSN 3335 Leasing. The 2007-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Indigo.

The government of Belgium agreed to sublease an Airbus A321 (1004) aircraft with V2533-A5 engines from Hi Fly. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Onur Air.

Turkish Airlines leased an Airbus A320 (0823) aircraft with CFM56-5B3/P engines from Macquarie AirFinance. The 1998-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Aigle Azur.

Windavia subleased an Airbus A320 (0548) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/2P engines from White. The 1995-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Whitejets.

Windavia subleased an Airbus A320 (0533) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/2P engines from SmartLynx Airlines. The 1995-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Thomas Cook Airlines.
