Mauritius-based aircraft leasing company Veling has completed the sale of the first of two ATR 72-500s that were previously operated by India's Kingfisher Airlines.
The 2007-vintage aircraft was sold to Pelita Air Service, a fully owned subsidiary of Indonesia state oil and gas company Pertamina.
"This aircraft purchase is a further commitment of the airline to operate young and modern equipment in support of our clients demanding operational requirements," says Pelita Air Service's president director Andjar Wibawanun.
Veling says the sale represents our first transaction to an airline based in the "rapidly growing" Indonesian economy.
Its portfolio includes another ATR 72-500, as well as seven Boeing 777-200/200ERs on lease to Emirates Airline and four Airbus A340-300s leased to SriLankan Airlines.
