US kitplane manufacturer Velocity Aircraft is installing Ballistic Recovery Systems' (BRS) parachute in its XL-5 Dash kitplane to satisfy customer demand. The Sebastian, Florida-based company has started taking orders for the upgraded, four-seat aircraft and plans to start deliveries within weeks. BRS has delivered over 19,000 parachute systems to date, which have been credited with saving 177 lives.
