VIDEO: UK airline CEOs welcome 787 to Heathrow

The bosses of the three UK Boeing 787 customer airlines were on hand to welcome the twinjet on its first official visit to London Heathrow Airport on 23 April as part of the aircraft's "Dream Tour".

Speaking at the event, hosted by Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president for marketing Randy Tinseth, were Thomson Airways managing director Chris Browne, British Airways parent International Airlines Group's chief executive Willie Walsh, and Virgin Atlantic Airways chief executive Steve Ridgway.

Thomson, part of TUI Travel, has nine General Electric GEnx-powered 787-8s on order for delivery from 2013. British Airways is due to receive the first of eight 787-8s and 16 stretched -9s on firm order also in 2013, while Virgin has 16 787-9s on backlog for delivery from 2014.
