Operating lessor AWAS has agreed to place an additional new Airbus A320 aircraft under an operating lease contract with Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet.
The sharklet-equipped A320 follows the lease of three new aircraft of the type in April this year.
To date AWAS has delivered two aircraft. The remaining two A320s are scheduled for delivery next year.
VietJet has 10 A320s in service with five aircraft on lease from ALAFCO, two from GECAS, another two from AWAS and the remaining unit from CIT Aerospace, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database.
The carrier aims to grow the size of its fleet to 15 aircraft by 2015.
