Virgin America has notified the US Department of Transportation that it will display partner Virgin Australia's code on its Los Angeles-Las Vegas flights.

The two airlines already have a codeshare agreement, covering Virgin America's flights from Los Angeles to Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle and Washington DC,

Virgin America has requested for a waiver of the 30-day notice period so it can display Virgin Australia's code with the next schedule it files.

Virgin Australia's long-haul division operates to Los Angeles from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
