Virgin Atlantic Airways and Air Jamaica have terminated their codeshare agreement.

The agreement enabled Air Jamaica to codeshare on Virgin Atlantic's flights between Jamaica and London Gatwick.

"For three years it was a good fit for us," says Air Jamaica chief Bruce Nobles. "But now our strategic focus is the transition of Air Jamaica to Caribbean Airlines and the development of our markets in the USA and the Caribbean."

Virgin Atlantic and Air Jamaica will, however, continue their frequent-flyer partnership.
