Virgin Australia will introduce two additional weekly frequencies to the Perth-Karratha route from 22 October.
The carrier says the additional services will be operated by its Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) subsidiary with Fokker 100 aircraft.
The new flights will take the airline up to 38 flights per week between Perth and Karratha, which is a hub for the resources industry in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
“Our base in Western Australia provides us with a strong foundation to meet the needs of regional communities and the resources industry and we will continue to evaluate new growth opportunities across Australia,” says VARA group executive Merren McArthur.
Innovata schedules show that Virgin competes with Qantas on the Perth-Karratha route.
