Virgin Australia will complete the reconfiguration of its Embraer 190 fleet to include dedicated business class seats by March 2013.

"The first of the reconfigured aircraft has entered into service and the remainder of the fleet will be complete in the next four months," says its chief executive John Borghetti.

The retrofitted E-190s have six dedicated business class seats and 92 economy seats, whereas business class was previously offered by blocking off seats in the first two rows of the aircraft.

Virgin operates 18 E-190s, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database.
