Virgin Blue's July passenger traffic fell 2.5% year-on-year to 1.5 million passengers.

Overall RPKs rose 21.7% and ASKs rose 27.4%, but this was mainly due to the launch of international services in April with V Australia.

The airline's July international passenger traffic grew 52.5% to 233,000, RPKs were up 222.7%, and ASKs rose 226.8%.

Domestic traffic fell by 8.4% to 1.3 million passengers in July, RPKs fell by 6.9% and ASKs fell by 3.3%.
