Virgin Blue has received approval from the Canadian Transportation Agency to codeshare on scheduled services between Australia and Canada.

The Australia-based carrier is likely to codeshare on flights operated by Air Canada, which is the only airline operating non-stop between Australia and Canada, according to schedules in Flightglobal's ACAS database.

Air Canada operates daily between Sydney and Vancouver, as well as between Sydney and Toronto.
