Australia's Virgin Blue group reported a 1.9% growth in passenger traffic in February from a year ago.
Domestic RPKs fell 4.8%, while international RPKs were up 14%, says the airline.
In real terms, the total number of passengers carried declined 9.2% to 1.35 million. Domestic passenger numbers decreased 6.7% to 1.18 million and international passenger numbers fell 24% to 170,639.
Overall capacity, as measured in ASKs, increased 8.3%. Domestic capacity was up 4.2% and international capacity increased 15%.
Virgin Blue's passenger load factor fell 4.7 percentage points to 75.7%. Its domestic passenger load factor was down 7.3 percentage points to 76.8%, while its international passenger load factor also declined 0.5 percentage points to 74%.
