Virgin Atlantic Airways has contracted Swiss MRO provider SR Technics to install premium class furnishings in five Airbus A330s.
Although the UK carrier has 10 A330-300s, five of the aircraft - which were delivered over the past year and a half - are configured with just economy and premium economy class seats.
SR Technics is installing the airline's "upper class suites" with fully-flat seats, Panasonic's "eXPhone" in-flight entertainment and communication system, enhanced cabin lighting and a bar area for premium passengers.
The first aircraft was completed in December while the remaining four are to be finished by year-end.
The work is being done at SR Technics' main base in Zurich.
