Mexican low-cost carrier has applied to the US Department of Transportation to launch service on three routes to US cities.
The airline plans to operate on Cancun-Las Vegas, Cancun-Orlando and Guadalajara-Reno. It will begin service "shortly" after it gains approval for the flights, it adds.
Volaris will operate Airbus A319 or A320 aircraft on the routes.
It will compete against Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways on Cancun-Orlando, schedules in Innovata show. Volaris will be the only airline operating on the other two routes.
