Volaris launches Veracruz service

Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris has launched service to Veracruz in eastern Mexico.

The airline is operating twice weekly between Veracruz and Tijuana, and a weekly flight between Veracruz and Guadalajara.

No other carrier operates between Veracruz and Tijuana, but Volaris will compete against VivaAerobus on Veracruz-Guadalajara.

Separately, Volaris launched service between Guadalajara and Phoenix, Arizona on 19 October. The airline will operate thrice weekly on the route. It will also begin thrice weekly flights between Mexico City and Phoenix from 4 December. The airline announced in July it will begin the Phoenix flights in the fourth quarter.

Volaris will compete against US Airways on both Phoenix routes, schedules in Innovata show.
