Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris has opened a new base in Monterrey, where it will base three Airbus A320s.
Monterrey will be the airline's fifth base after Mexico City, Guadalajara, Tijuana and Cancun. Volaris will operate to 11 domestic destinations from Monterrey.
“Consolidating out of Monterrey is one of Volaris’ objectives for 2014,” says Volaris chief executive, Enrique Beltranena. “We are committed to offering locals more and better connectivity options at fares that will make them want to travel."
The new base will double Volaris' flights out of the city in 2014 year-on-year.
