Volaris plans five new domestic routes

Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris will launch service on five new domestic routes from September.

It will begin flights on Guadalajara-Tuxtla Gutierrez from 3 September, Guadalajara-Merida from 4 September and Guadalajara-Mazatlan from 5 September.

In addition, it will launch Tijuana-Chihuahua flights from 15 October, and Tijuana-Ciudad Juarez flights from 18 October. Volaris will operate twice weekly on all five routes.

The airline will compete against VivaAerobus on Guadalajara-Tuxtla Gutierrez and Guadalajara-Merida, and against Aeromexico on Guadalajara-Merida and Tijuana-Ciudad Juarez, schedules in Innovata show. Volaris will be the only carrier operating on Guadalajara-Mazatlan.
