Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris plans to launch next month services to Chihuahua from its base at Toluca airport outside Mexico City.
The carrier says in a statement today that Chihuahua will become its 23rd destination on 22 October.
Volaris, which operates domestically in Mexico with a fleet of 18 Airbus A319s, will initially offer one daily flight between Toluca and Chihuahua.
Volaris will compete against low-cost rival Interjet on the Toluca-Chihuahua route. Interjet now operates two daily flights between the cities using A320s, according to Innovata.
Aeromexico also serves Chihuahua from Mexico City International Airport with four daily frequencies.
