Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris will launch service to Phoenix in the fourth quarter, after it secured approvals from US and Mexican authorities to begin the flights.
The carrier will operate to the Arizona capital from Mexico City and Guadalajara, it says. It will fly thrice weekly on each route with Airbus A319 or A320 aircraft. Volaris had applied to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) in May to launch the service.
Including Phoenix, Volaris will fly to 11 destinations in the USA. The airline also operates to Oakland, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Sacramento, Fresno, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago Midway and Orlando.
