Venice-based start-up Volotea will set up a base in Nantes on 1 June and launch 14 new routes from the French city to other European destinations, using two aircraft.
From 1 June, the Spanish-linked carrier will launch services to Ajaccio, Bastia, Biarritz, Toulon, Milan, Munich, Palma and Prague. It will add services to Metz-Nancy, Perpignan, Ibiza, Minorca, Olbia and Valencia on 1 August.
Also on 1 June, Volotea will begin operating from Bordeaux to Ajaccio and Bastia, both in Corsica. It will launch Bordeaux-Ibiza and Bordeaux-Palermo services on 17 June and Bordeaux-Toulon on 1 August.
Volotea is also planning to operate a route between Biarritz and Lille. According to the Innovata schedules, it will be the only carrier to operate on this route.
