Vueling passenger traffic up 22.1% in December

Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling Airlines saw 22.1% year-on-year growth in passenger traffic, measured in RPKs, in December, against capacity increased by 26.1%.

Load factor at the airline declined 2.5 percentage points to reach 74%.

Passenger numbers for the month grew 14.3% to 967,000, while the total number of flights operated rose by 18.6%.

For the full year, traffic grew by 26.6% on capacity increased by 23.1%. Load factor for the 12-month period grew by 2.1 percentage points to 77.7%.

It carried a record 14.8 million passengers during the year, it says.

This month it launched its latest new route, linking Alicante with Moscow, its fifth service to Russia.
